More sad news from Ontari-owe. Seems Canadians love giving their money away. Ya think there will be any repercussions? Can’t imagine.
Ontario drivers may have overpaid as much as $5 billion on their auto insurance premiums over the past five years, according to a report released Tuesday by the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
And while claims declined, insurance company profits grew to $1.5 billion in 2016 — up nearly 60% compared to four years earlier, says the report written by professor Fred Lazar, of the York University Schulich School of Business professor Dr. Fred Lazar,
That works out to be $143 more out-of-pocket per year for auto insurance policy holders in Ontario, said the OTLA.
And because many of us didn’t have—or had fewer—kids, we’re now told that we need mass immigration to make up the shortfall.
In conclusion, Ehrlich warned that “sometime in the next 15 years, the end will come,” meaning “an utter breakdown of the capacity of the planet to support humanity.”
If these musings had been received for what they actually were—the wacky theories of a crackpot academic—all would have been well. But The Population Bomb sold some 3 million copies and influenced an entire generation.

Canada and Mexico are China’s backdoor to the US market.
Ambassador Lighthizer comments on NAFTA prior to departing for China. In the auto sector, Mexico and Canada are still arguing for more Asian/Chinese parts for U.S. automobiles. The U.S. position is for higher North American content. Loggerheads.
I still find it stunning how many people cannot see the ridiculous side of the Mexican and Canadian position; and how that showcases the insanity of NAFTA. Can/Mex are not arguing for more Canada and Mexico content, they are holding out for more Asian content. Their economic models are nothing more than brokering the assembly of cheap Asian goods through their NAFTA access to the U.S. market. Ridiculous.
Substanceless, like the woman who released the report.
It’s impossible for Canadians to assess the effectiveness of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s national carbon pricing plan when his government is pulling numbers out of a hat, making highly suspicious claims about its effectiveness.
A report released Monday by Environment Minister Catherine McKenna predicts Trudeau’s carbon price could come close to meeting Canada’s 2020 and 2030 industrial greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, submitted to the United Nations.
But it is so flimsy, it appears to be an attempt by the Liberals to put a fig leaf over the recent political embarrassment Trudeau and McKenna suffered when they refused to say how many tonnes of emissions the PM’s $50 per tonne carbon price would eliminate by 2022.
