Although the trial of David Livingston and Laura Miller is not yet over, it’s once again becoming clear that there is no justice in 0-land. Ontario is arguably a moving towards becoming a police state, where the OPP (the highest paid police force in the province) is in the back pocket of the Liberal Party of Ontario. Remember, during the last provincial elections, the Ontario Provincial Police Association paid for advertisements trashing PC leader Tim Hudak, which broke with tradition and in one lawyer’s opinion, broke the law.

Whatever else, Ontarians deserved that the gas plants trial be a full and fair hearing, the usual sort of robust contest that a criminal trial in an adversarial system is meant to be.
