Before Christmas, I finished reading Douglas Murray’s The Strange Death of Europe, which is a good account of what is happening in Europe and why.

From a recent review:

No, the defining issue of our day is mass immigration into the nations of Western heritage. This growing inflow threatens to remake those nations and overwhelm their cultural identity. This is the issue that played the largest role in getting Donald Trump elected. It drove Britain’s Brexit vote. It is roiling the European continent, mounting tensions inside the EU and driving a wedge between the elites of those nations and their general populations.

There have been several other reviews, including this one from one Gaby Hinsliff of The Guardian.  It always amazes me how ideologues use pretzel logic to twist reality to fit their ideology.  In their world, ideology trumps reality ever time.  It takes a special kind of stupid to watch your own civilization being overrun with third-world barbarians and skewer those who dare point it out.
