Nearly a century of brew tyranny may be coming to an end in Ontario as rumour has it Doug Ford’s government may soon end The Beer Store’s lingering monopoly. Founded in 1927 by a consortium of provincial brewers, it grew into an anti-competitive, consumer-degrading behemoth controlled by three international mega brewers: Molson Coors, Labatt and Sleeman.
