Daniel Pipes on modern arf in Venice:
I felt tempted to shout out to the horde of art-worshipers, “The emperor has no clothes. This is a fraud. Leave this bleak place, and instead visit Venice’s exquisite streets, waterways, churches, and palaces.” But exhibit-goers had each paid an entrance fee of €25 (US$30), and, judging by the many photographs being snapped and the learned discussions underway, the biennale cheerfully satisfied their artistic tastes. So I stayed mum.
So now you know what ordinary folks, including small businesses, have to deal with all the time. An epiphany for the parasitic class? Doubt it.
“When you call, you reach a call centre of people who can’t help you — human answering machines. How does that make any sense?” she wailed. “The people you call don’t have any access to your file, they can’t change anything. All they can do is create a ‘ticket’ so that apparently one of the magical little elves will someday look at your file and decide to fix it.”
More.
As mentioned here, Kathleen Wynne is quite a piece of work. Evidently, she has plumbed new depths. What a disgusting human being.
I found myself near disgusted by her words, not because they didn’t apply perfectly to the Shermans. It was because I felt Wynne was using the funeral and the rawness of everyone’s emotions as an opportunity to cosy up to Toronto’s Jewish community.
Read it all.
It saddens me, but Hillary Clinton has just been voted Prat of the Year 2017. Hang your heads in shame all you Prattie voters. There simply must have been something of even lower worth floating around in the cheese dick, bottom scraping, unflushable floater, skid marked underpants of a deep, depraved and at times disconsolate world. At last, she’s finally won something, and on a better justification than my hubbie used to be the president, I’m a woman, he’s shagged everyone with anything even vaguely resembling a vagina around us, and therefore I am entitled to be the next president of the USA.
As mentioned here, many in my family—including my father—and in my friends’ families fought in the war. Here’s an old friend’s father, Alex Polowin, reminiscing. I only knew Mr Polowin to be in the RCN. Like many brave young men of the time, he was underage, having lied his way into the service so that he could do his part. I had no idea he was so decorated. I didn’t know he played the harmonica, either, but his eldest son, Howard, was an excellent guitarist. His youngest son, Sheldon, is a very successful and sought-after economist.
Diversity, indeed. The audacity of the unethical sock boy to preach to Canadians about values. Hypocrite.
The surrender continues in western Europe:
This year’s Christmas season has been marked by Islam-related controversies in nearly every European country. Most of the conflicts have been generated by Europe’s multicultural political and religious elites, who are bending over backwards to secularize Christmas, ostensibly to ensure that Muslims will not be offended by the Christian festival.
Nice headgear, Kathleen, but you’d look better in a full burqa. Ackshully, “Islamaphobia” is on the decline in Canada, which is amazing considering Muslims do so little to ingratiate themselves while our perverse governments shove them down our throats. Indeed, terrorism is on the rise in the world. Thankfully, most of it is Muslims killing one another. Antisemitism, however, is on the rise everywhere—everywhere that the Muslim population is on the rise, including in Ontari-owe:
…hate crimes against the Jewish population grew from 178 to 221 incidents. Increases were seen in Ontario (+31)…
Hair Lisp is more unhinged than Jack Layton’s tea and crumpet set. Heavens forfend Trudeau upsets his ever-increasing Muslim voter base.
Trudeau’s own Public Safety Minister, Ralph Goodale, also appears to disagree with the policy that you can hug terrorists back into society. He recently said that the chances of turning around someone who has actively engaged in terrorist activities in a war zone were “pretty remote”.
The inimitable Mark Steyn.
The former Obama officials who manufactured a media “echo chamber” to sell the Iran deal are now working to undermine a bombshell report that revealed how former President Barack Obama’s administration derailed its own Drug Enforcement Agency’s efforts to stop Islamist terrorist group Hezbollah from developing a global narcotics syndicate.
There’s nothing honourable about Sock Boy or his government.
Dawson says in a report today that Trudeau’s vacation last year, and two other family vacations not previously made public, broke conflict of interest law that prohibits a minister or any member of their family from accepting gifts or “advantages” that could reasonably be seen as influencing government decisions.
Ahistorians move to strip Sir John A. Macdonald’s name from prestigious book prize
Guess buddy the ahistorian hasn’t heard of the German word, Zeitgeist, which means spirit of the age or spirit of the time. In other words, we shouldn’t judge are forefathers based on our contemporary values. What a bizarre ‘wascist’ way to define one’s self:
“As a white scholar, I was able to take winning the prize in stride and just think of it as an ironic thing that my work, which exposed Macdonald’s inhumanity, won the Macdonald prize,” he said. “I can imagine a time when an Indigenous scholar wins the prize, and it’s going to be a slap in the face.”
Being the principled fellow he is, though, he accepted the cash anyway.

To Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Finance Minister Bill Morneau:
Your government has implemented a “tax escalator” that will automatically increase taxes on beer, wine and spirits each year.Taxes already make up nearly half of the price of beer, over 60% of the price of wine and 80% of the price of spirits.
Further, automatic tax hikes are undemocratic, lack transparency and are completely unfair to Canadians.
When governments raise taxes, they must be open and accountable about doing so. Hiding tax hikes is not acceptable and is an evasion of political responsibility.
We the undersigned call on your government to repeal the tax escalator on beer, wine and spirits.
